Monitoring Session Spread Performance With TradeProofer

Hi readers,

Today we’ll be using TradeProofer’s weekly reports in Google Sheets to:

  1. Find your weekly session averages
  2. Find the % change from the previous week’s session averages
  3. Use the TradeProofer heatmap to identify spread improvements and deteriorations
  4. Using TradeProofer’s Pre-set Filters to get quick snap shots

Access the TradeProofer Dashboard and Heatmap here!

To do this you’ll need:

Without any further ado let’s get into how it’s done!

  1. Upload TradeProofer Data to Google Sheets
    Upload a TradeProofer weekly spreads CSV file into a fresh google sheet. Go to “File” > “Import” and follow the prompts to upload. Repeat this step with the second week’s data.

  2. Create Pivot Table
    On the “By Session” tab in TradeProofer’s weekly report select all data (ctrl+a), and select “Insert” > “Pivot Table” in the header menu. Repeat this on the second data set.

  3.  Find Session Avg’s with Pivot Tables
    To find your session average in Pivot Tables set up your pivot table as follows.

    Rows = Symbol
    Columns = Session
    Values = Avg Spread (Summarised by Average)
    Filters = ONLY 1 broker service (your pricing)

  1. Copy The Pivot Tables Into The TradeProofer Session Dashboard & Heatmap
    Now that you’ve downloaded TradeProofer’s Dashboard and Heatmap you can upload this file into Google Sheets.

    Copy the entire pivot table. Paste the data into the T-1 and T-2 tabs of the pivot table (ensure that the most recent data is in the t-1 tab). This can easily be reused for future data by copying the t-1 data to the t-2 tab, and updating the t-1 tab with new data.
  2. Use The TradeProofer Session Heat Map (Download Here)
    The dashboard and heatmap tabs will automatically update, highlighting where your spread has improved week over week and where your spread has increased.

Use TradeProofer’s Pre-Set Filters To Reduce The Noise
Select what you need to see. Our pre-set filters include FX Majors & Gold, EUR Favourites, AUD Favourites, GBP Favourites, Commodities, Index Favourites.

Simply select the “Filter Views” function and select one of the pre-sets.
